CrossFit North Harbour (CFNH) is a community that makes fitness enjoyable. We are a premier strength & conditioning facility that challenges the traditional gym environment. At our Box everybody is welcome, and despite their starting level of fitness or long-term goals, we’re on board to help achieve results.
The CFNH workouts are constantly varied and consist of functional movements that mimic daily life or sports to improve the functionality that gets you through the day. CrossFit’s sweet spot is in the intensity of the workout – working hard for a short period of time, as this achieves results. We seldom repeat the same workout, but when we do it’s so we can track our progress, smash fitness goals and create new ones.
CrossFit is a strength and conditioning programme that combines gymnastics, cardio and weightlifting. Classes or Workouts of the Day (WODS) generally last an hour and are programmed for constant variation, high intensity and functional movements. Our programming aims to help our members improve their capacity in the 10 components of fitness: cardio-respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy. The results are a lifestyle of physical fitness and increased vitality.

A former wine maker now registered physiotherapist and Level 2 CrossFit Coach, Nick is passionate about helping develop fit, happy and healthy people. As a coach, Nick guides our members through CrossFit, prehab & rehab, nutrition & goal setting.
A highly competitive and successful athlete in powerlifting and CrossFit with the passion to see members reach their potential and build confidence in themselves. Lisa holds many NZ records in powerlifting and is driven to helping members reach their goals.
Lauren keeps the wheels turning behind the workouts. A pivotal member of the CFNH team, Lauren is just as strong with a barbell as she is in excel. You’ll see her around the box, she’s one of our CrossFit mums who’s an inspiration to us all.
Five months ago I started the biggest journey of my life. My doctor told me I was digging my own grave as I struggled with high blood pressure, inflammation in my joints, numb hands, trouble sleeping and the list goes on. I was 33 and weighed 120kg. At the five month mark, I now weigh 96kg and I can run, do push ups and pull ups which all seemed impossible when I started. I’ve traded in my size 107 shorts for 92s and can now comfortable fit a size medium tee when I used to be an extra large. Getting fit has drastically improved my sleep and productivity. Best of all, I can be the dad I always wanted to be. Thank you CrossFit North Harbour for helping me achieve this. Without the support and help of the coaches and all the fellow members this wouldn’t have been possible and future would be looking very different.
Coming from a CrossFit crazy family I knew more about WODs and Paleo than most but the idea of doing CrossFit was too intimidating for me to even show up. I hate being the beginner so I wrote myself off as the yoga type and struggled through never seeing results. Once I got over blaming my busy lifestyle for my lack of fitness, I decided to give CrossFit a go and was blown away by how much better I felt in just a matter of weeks. No I can’t double under, and I use the lightest weights in the class but I’m working to improve on my PBs not anyone elses and the support of the CFNH coaches and members is helping me get there.
When I joined CFNH I could barely do a squat, I struggled to lift the empty barbell and had never even set foot inside a gym. CrossFit wasn’t something I thought I would be good at, so training at a box had never crossed my mind before – let alone competing in CrossFit comps! Joining CFNH was like joining a family – everyone’s super friendly, welcoming and supportive. Throughout my two years as a member I have trained with talented coaches, competed in 4 competitions and participated in a number of nutrition challenges. I have been pushed to my absolute limits and achieved results I never thought I would be able to. I am now the strongest and healthiest I have ever been. I have lots of energy and look forward to my next workout at CFNH.
